Silica Safety Notice

Stone materials supplied by Aracruz RE are safe for transportation, handling, and normal residential or commercial use.

However, cutting, grinding, drilling, polishing, or fabricating stone materials may generate respirable crystalline silica (RCS) dust. Prolonged inhalation of silica dust can cause serious health conditions including silicosis, lung cancer, and other respiratory diseases.

These risks primarily affect fabricators, installers, and workers involved in processing stone materials.

Fabrication should only be performed by trained professionals using appropriate safety controls such as:

• Wet cutting and water suppression systems

• Dust extraction and ventilation systems

• Proper respiratory protection (N95 or higher)

• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Fabricators and contractors must comply with OSHA regulations regarding respirable crystalline silica exposure, including OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1926.1153.

Aracruz RE is a distributor of stone materials and does not fabricate or install the products it sells. Fabricators and installers are responsible for following all applicable workplace safety regulations and dust control procedures.
